I grew up in Tacoma, lived in Chicago for a year, and am now in Seattle teaching and living on a boat with my esteemed editor, Frances.

I love bread, coffee, my family, and fully waterproof rain jackets.
When I grow up, I would like to live in a house with a big bookshelf, a kitchen with a stove, and many blankets; hopefully in WA.
I have a BA in philosophy and literature from Pacific Lutheran University, particularly studying Kierkegaard, Shakespeare, Alexander Pope, and Plato, and some music, too. I have an MA from University of Chicago in an interdisciplinary Humanities program, where I wrote my thesis on Nietzsche and education.
I am currently a recovering straight-A student, working to figure out what in the world to do next. Ergo, blog.
